Meet Michelle

Michelle is a Registered Psychotherapist, Registered Counselling Therapist in Nova Scotia, AASECT-Certified Sex Therapist, author and neurodivergent clinician with more than 25 years of experience in the mental health field, providing therapy to both individuals and couples.

She works with professionals, entrepreneurs, leaders, therapists, first responders, caregivers, parents and neurodivergent adults who have often been highly successful by society’s standards. You may have built a career, relationships, a family and a full life, often while carrying a great deal of responsibility and caring for others. Alongside that success, you may also be navigating burnout, perfectionism, chronic stress, the impact of trauma, relationship difficulties or a growing sense that something in your life no longer fits.

Drawing on both clinical expertise and her own lived experience as an AuDHD clinician, Michelle brings warmth, curiosity and genuine connection to her work. She takes the time to understand you as a whole person—your relationships, history, identity, environment and the ways you experience and move through the world. There is no one way a person is supposed to be, and therapy is not about trying to turn you into someone you are not.

Her work is trauma-informed and grounded in an understanding that the ways we learn to cope, protect ourselves and stay connected often make sense in the context of what we have lived through. Together, you can begin to understand what has shaped you, what still fits and what you may need now.

Beyond her clinical practice, Michelle is the founder of the nonprofit counselling organization Couch of HOPE, where she provides clinical training and supports the development of new therapists. She also provides clinical supervision to therapists working toward licensure as they develop their clinical voice, judgment and confidence in the work.

Michelle is also the author of Her Face of Autism and writes about later-diagnosed autism and ADHD, relationships and what it can mean to come to understand yourself differently later in life.
