Fees & What to Expect

Rates & Payment

Therapy Fees

Individual Therapy and Couples Therapy

50-minute session — $200

75-minute session — $300

Longer sessions are available upon request or may be recommended when additional time would be beneficial to the therapeutic process.

Insurance & Direct Billing

Direct billing is available for eligible Blue Cross plans where possible. Coverage varies and clients are responsible for confirming their benefits directly with their insurance provider.

A valid credit card is required on file and will be charged for any amount not covered by insurance. When direct billing is unavailable, payment is due at the time of service and a receipt will be provided for reimbursement.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

Whenever possible, 24 hours’ notice is requested for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellation and no-show fees are not charged, recognizing that unexpected circumstances happen.

If missed or late-cancelled appointments become a recurring pattern, we may need to revisit scheduling to support continuity of therapy and appointment availability.

Confidentiality & Privacy

What you share in therapy is confidential and protected in accordance with professional standards and applicable privacy legislation.

There are legal and ethical limits to confidentiality, including concerns about serious harm, suspected abuse or neglect, subpoenas or other circumstances required by law. These limits are reviewed as part of informed consent, and questions are always welcome.

Questions, Concerns or Feedback

Questions, concerns and feedback about your therapy experience are always welcome and can be discussed directly with Michelle.

You also have the right to contact the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) or the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists (NSCCT) for information about professional standards or the complaints process.

Michelle does not provide emergency or crisis services and may not be available between sessions. If you need immediate support, call 911, visit your nearest emergency department, or call or text the 9-8-8 Suicide Crisis Helpline, available 24/7 across Canada.
