How Can Michelle Help?

BEFORE YOU REACH OUT

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about the therapeutic process, the collaborative nature of our work, and what to expect when getting started.

Michelle currently offers virtual psychotherapy sessions only, available for individuals and couples located across Canada. In-person sessions will be offered again once Michelle is fully relocated back to Ontario.

Michelle offers direct billing to Blue Cross where possible. Because insurance coverage varies widely between plans, it is your responsibility to check with your insurance provider and review your policy to confirm that psychotherapy services and associated fees are covered.

Yes. Therapy is a confidential process guided by strict ethical and professional standards. What you share in sessions is kept private, with a few legal exceptions (such as risk of serious harm) that will be explained during the informed consent process.

The consultation call is a brief, usually 15-minute conversation where you can share, in broad terms, what has brought you to therapy and ask Michelle questions about the process. It is not intended to explore your full story, but rather to gain a general sense of your concerns and determine whether working together feels like a good fit.

A strong therapeutic relationship is an important part of the process. The consultation call provides an opportunity to get a sense of Michelle’s approach and how it feels to speak with her. You might notice whether you feel comfortable asking questions, whether you feel heard and understood, and whether her way of thinking about your concerns resonates with you. If it feels like a good fit, the next step is to schedule your first session.
